Simple file-sharing with Dropbox
While there’s been many (many) attempts at creating a decent way to share files between computers, I’ve never been so impressed with a service as Dropbox.
When you sign up to Dropbox you’re given a virtual folder that exists online - you can use it to store pretty much anything you like. Then, you can “install” the folder on any of your computers to start the...

We're incorporated!
Ooooh it’s an exciting day!
After meeting with our Business Link advisor, Stephen Langdown, to talk about grant changes when going from pre-startup to an incorporated company we decided that now’s the time to “get Limited”.
At 11 o’ clock last night, armed with a cup of Yorkshire Gold (mmmm nice) and a pile of pea pods, I managed to get through the forms. As...

And the voice of 1DayLater is....
We have tabulated the votes for the new 1DayLater voiceover in the comments, on the various forums, twitter and via email. It was very close between Dan Hurst and Peter McGowan (straight) - after playing both to a few strangers it was decided that Dan Hurst was the best fit for the job!
Without further ado, feast your eyes and ears on the new 1DayLater intro animation!
It needs a little more...
Voiceover submissions galore!
Me and Paul have been truly humbled and overwhelmed by you all in response to our plea for a 1DayLater voiceover. We’ve had submissions from all over the world with a plethora of differenct accents, all brilliant too!
So good in fact we don’t know what to do now! Bloody hell and buggery. Tell you what, would you like to listen to them and help us decide? Course you would!
Dan...
Olympic business opportunies!
I know what you’re thinking…with Davids spindley legs and gravity bending brain they haven’t got a chance!
You might not be thinking much of the 2012 Olympics, but it’s a great time to start considering the business opportunities being created and how you can exploit them. Because the undertaking is essentially to create a everything a new city could need - and not a...

The Great North Run, visualised!
I know you’ve all heard of the Great North Run, but have you ever wondered what it’s like to train for a half marathon? (not including you David Coxon!) Luckily, I recently teamed up with an All-Star cast of designers, coders and businesspeople to create just the thing!
The Dry Run project has 10 trainee runners carrying modified Nokia phones to record their location, elevation, take...

Creating a brand in 10 minutes...
To keep to the 1DayLater animation topic (and while we wait for a few more voiceovers to come in), I’d like to explain why we chose the 1DayLater visual style you see. As you know, our business really began with the Sunderland Software Ventures course and a big part of that is to present your idea to investors for criticism, we wanted a 10-slide presentation that simply described our...

Loans? You must be barking mad!
As business continues to progress, we’ve been looking closer into sources of finance to see us through these first crucial stages. We’ve looked into: winging it (not enough hours in the day), venture capital (too much stress), borrowing from friends and family (too much responsibility) and then finally getting a loan…
With all this “economic stupidity” the whole...

Race to Cure Diabetes
Slightly different from our usual techie blog entries - but we feel that our good friend Morten Fangel could do with a bit of support!
Not only is Morten a super programmer - having helped us to implement new OAuth technology into 1DayLater, it turns out he’s also an uber-athlete! Being a wonderful chap and “coincidently” being in Australia, he figured why not participate in a...
Be the voice of 1DayLater!
A few months back me and the Paul made a cute animation for the new 1DayLater site - but being verbally shy our attempts at a voiceover we’re quite terrible. Which is why we’re asking you (oh lovely friends of The King Brothers) if you’d like to help out!
Being bootstrappers (and a bit bootstrapped for cash) we can’t offer you much in the way of thanks other than our time,...

The Sun Rises over our Customers
There’s probably a million great ways to kick off the week, like supping a hot chocolate and watching the sunrise… but I’ve run out of chocolate and it’s midday, so instead, I’m bringing a little sunshine to your desk!
We all know that our customers are the lifeblood of our business, without them we would all be liquidating faster than a frog in a blender....
